We believe that we are
at the beginning of a wellness revolution. People want
to be well. We live in a country of illness and disease.
1,500 of us die from cancer every day. 1 in 3 women and
1 in 2 men will have cancer in his or her lifetime. 1.1
million Americans have a heart attack every year.
Americans spend $330 billion per year on heart disease. By age 12, 70% of American children have developed the
beginning stages of hardening of the arteries. Dr David
Katz of Yale University believes this may be the first
generation of children not to outlive their parents, and
that in the next ten years it will be common to see 16
and 17 year olds dying of heart disease. Diabetes is
expected to increase by 165% over the next 50 years.
Over the last ten years, Type 2 diabetes has increased
10-fold. |
